Glazpart Joins BPF - Bradley Joins Board

As part of its external affairs strategy, Glazpart has joined the British Plastics Federation. The move has coincided with company stalwart and well-known industry figure, Dean Bradley joining the company’s board of directors.

With the trading environment adapting to legislative and policy changes, Glazpart felt it essential to have a voice in discussions with the British Plastics Federation (BPF) and its member companies in the plastics manufacturing and supply chain to the construction sector.

The BPF is the world's longest established plastics trade association. It has more than 450 member companies, representing over 80% of the UK plastics industry by turnover. The BPF has a number of specialist ‘groups’. Glazpart will be particularly involved in the ‘moulders group’.

“Whilst the moulders group offers an opportunity to network and understand wider industrial markets, whilst being part of the wider industry discussions impacting the plastics markets.”

In addition, to being part of the moulders group, Glazpart also intends to have an input on the BPF Windows Group. Bradley explains: “As the regulatory landscape has changed and continues to evolve, we see a clear need to present our concerns to key influencers in the plastics sector. We look forward to taking part in future meetings to discuss the impact of the changes to the building regulations, approved document F regarding ventilation in homes.”

Document F

The document F aims to improve the standards concerning energy efficiency and air quality of a building. The amendments have also been designed to ensure that ventilation is not compromised in the drive to net-zero targets, which aim to prevent energy loss from residential properties and minimise potential overheating risks.

This uplift in standards is expected to be followed by the planned introduction of the Future Homes Standard in 2025. The standard is set to be the subject of a government consultation in 2023.

Dean Bradley

Bradley has joined the Glazpart Group of Companies as sales director. He joined the company in  in 2012 as sales & marketing manager and has been instrumental in developing the business over the last decade.

In addition to growing sales, Bradley has worked closely with the technical and design team, implementing a strong product development strategy that has introduced many new products to the glass, glazing, construction, industrial and automotive sectors.

He says: With continuous investment in innovation and state of the art machinery to meet the increasing demand for our products, it’s an exciting time for Glazpart. I look forward to being part of a strong and talented board, to help steer the company to even greater success in the future.”
