Yale Buys Mila

Assa Abloy has an agreement to buy Mila the window and door locks specialist and Carlisle Brass which is also a major supplier of door hardware. The acquisition will be of Arran Isle Ltd, the owner of Mila and Carlisle Brass.

Assa Abloy is best known for its Yale and Union Lock brands. It is an international group with around 48,000 employees and sales close to €8.4 billion. In the UK, Assa Abloy has its head office and main manufacturing centre in Walsall.

Subject to approval

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions and is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2021 or early 2022.

Arran Isle has some 560 employees, the head office is located in Bradford, UK with operational activity at sites in UK, Ireland, Europe and China.

Carlisle Brass and Mila will continue to trade from existing locations, with no changes in the foreseeable future to management teams or operational activities. Mila’s maintenance business unit, based in Barnsley will become part of Assa Abloy’s commercial construction & maintenance sector.
