New Openings

The Residence Collection has completed the exciting addition of an open-in entrance door. Unlike many doors that rely on composite materials, this new entrance door is crafted from PVC.

This aligns with recent developments that have revitalised the PVC door sector. This choice ensures durability, cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency, all while offering the look and appeal of timber.

Clever trim

A Patent Pending GB – GB2315791.0 decorative trim cleverly hides the PVC gasket line around the panels, creating an authentic timber look. Complemented by a large mid-rail, a stackable deep bottom rail and a selection of matching foiled panels, the design will appeal to homeowners wanting the classic charm of timber without the maintenance headaches.

Suite spot

One of the major advantages of the new open-in door is the enhanced design flexibility it offers fabricators – and thus installers. Door sash sizes can be customised up to 900mm wide by 2300mm high, accommodating a broad range of door sizes and styles – perfect for the unique dimensions often found in heritage properties.

The chamfered sash profile suites with The Residence Collection’s existing open-out doors and window sashes to ensure a cohesive look across entire projects.

Bespoke features such as a 130mm mid-rail designed to house a full-sized letterbox and the deep bottom rail, which includes a positive click engagement for secure and efficient assembly are added benefits.

Finish

Panels for this door system have been rigorously tested with Regalead and Hurst for compatibility and finish quality. Regalead’s ‘Urban Engineered’ door components are available in full for The Residence Collection colour range. The 44mm panel options come with raised and fielded designs on one or both sides, all featuring the patented pending surround trim that conceals the gasket line with a moulded timber-like finish.

When paired with the Residence 7 frame, the door achieves a flush appearance inside and out,

Security

The range also boasts full PAS 24 compliance and has passed BS6375 testing for weather resistance, strength and overall durability. It is compatible with 28mm double or 44mm triple glazing, further boosting energy performance.

Accessibility

A low aluminium threshold makes the door ideal for wheelchair access projects. A full-frame option for Residence 2 ensures the door is adaptable for diverse homes and lifestyles.

Door designer

To complement the product launch, The Residence Collection has introduced a brand-new online door designer which allows homeowners, installers and fabricators to design a door by selecting frame style, colours, glazing, hardware and beading options. The configurator then generates a clear summary of the full door specification, streamlining the quoting and ordering process. It even includes a ‘find an installer’ feature and direct enquiry submission, improving clarity and collaboration across the supply chain.

Jo Trotman, the marketing manager at The Residence Collection, says: “Our new timber alternative door range represents a significant leap forward in both design and functionality. The PVC construction mimics the best qualities of timber, while delivering accessibility, flexibility and bespoke features that meet the evolving demands of the market. With customisation, performance and authenticity, this door completes The Residence Collection’s portfolio and is a great choice for a wide variety of projects.”
