Ragdale Hall Spa in Leicestershire has just opened its glamorous new Twilight Bar, which features AluK’s BSF70 bi-folding door system.

Installers Fearns of Carlton have used the AluK system to create open-out bi-folding windows for the new 1920s themed cocktail bar and lounge. These can be opened up completely on two sides to let guests at the destination spa enjoy uninterrupted views of the adjoining garden.

Slim Profiles

The slim profiles lines of the windows complement the Art Deco styled interior of the Twilight Bar, which features scalloped prints and shapes, velvet seating, fringed lampshades and brass fittings. The exterior of the bar is clad in oxidised copper and the green finish of the copper has been designed to contrast with the Anthracite grey of the windows.

Fearns of Carlton worked closely with the design and build contractors Concorde BGW Group on the project, advising on how to use AluK’s BSF70 system most effectively to achieve the inside/outside look the contractor wanted and to add to the architectural character of the space.

International Hotel and Property Awards

Concorde BGW Group has been rewarded for its outstanding design work and attention to detail on the project with a nomination in the Bar/Club/Lounge category in the 2021 International Hotel and Property Awards.

The installation demonstrates the versatility of the AluK BSF70 system, which can be used for either open-in our open-out windows or doors with individual panels up to 1200mm wide x 2400mm high. The flush line pop-out handle allows panels to stack flush when they are fully open, adding to the sense of openness that can be achieved.
