AluK says that the F82 bi-fold is the product for installers and fabricators who want to tap into the £250 billion savings mountain which the Bank of England estimates affluent households have accumulated during lockdown.

The company believes that the F82's design features are the most popular with buyers. The most obvious is the slim sightlines, which measure a consistent 97mm all the way round the frame, cill and jamb and 122mm at the interlock.

 

Hardware

There is also a pop-up T-handle on the traffic door which is available in white, black, anthracite, silver and brushed stainless-steel. The handle has been tested to 25,000 cycles, equivalent to around 80 years of regular use.

The door also features heavy duty, 150kg capacity, stainless steel compact rollers on the bottom to give a smooth and effortless performance. The door is also tested up to Class 4 air permeability and Class E900 water tightness.

 

PAS

The AluK F82 bi-fold has achieved PAS24 security accreditation, ensuring that it can be fitted in new build projects which require compliance with Approved Document Q. The double glazed option has a U-Value of 1.34 W/m²K reaching 0.9 W/m²K triple glazed.

 

Versatility

The F82 is available in open-in and open-out, left and right options on doors between two and seven panels in sizes up to 1200(w) x 2600(h), with corner posts to suit almost any configuration. There is also the option to fabricate PAS24 accredited single and double doors using the same components.

 

Components

AluK says that an advantage for fabricators is that the door can be manufactured using just four key profiles and a reduced number of gaskets. Th aim is to simplify manufacturing and reduce stockholding.

For installers, the company says it is fitter-friendly and includes two low sightline sill options as well. Integrated sills have a new outer frame profile, which can be clipped onto either side of the frame rather than sitting on top, a range of sub sills mean the F82 can be positioned in virtually any construction.
