The move has been made as part of ERA’s commitment to achieving absolute reduction in Scope 2 emissions as validated by the Science Based Target Initiatives (SBTi). It confirms 100% of ERA’s headquarters in the West Midlands is powered through renewable energy source.
This aligns with ERA’s parent company, Tyman’s, validated targets by SBTi to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 46.2% by 2030 and reduce absolute Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions from purchased goods and services by 27.5% within the same timeframe.
This forms part of the group’s wider commitment to achieving sustainable operations, which includes providing 100% sustainable packaging by 2026 and updating company cars to all-electric alternatives, in addition to the installation of EV charging points.
Tyman 2030 roadmap
Lara Coutinho, ERA’s new sustainability programme manager, says: “Across all areas of the business, we are identifying how we can successfully improve the environmental efficiency of our operations as part of the Tyman 2030 roadmap, which reflects our ambition to transform the environmental performance of both our operations and products.”
