ERA Hits 11 Years With Secured By Design

ERA, the home security and fenestration component provider, has achieved an eleventh consecutive year of partnership with the official police security initiative, Secured by Design.

Owned by the UK police service, Secured by Design aims to reduce crime and help people live safely within their communities. This is achieved by working closely with developers, local authorities and registered housing associations to incorporate police crime prevention standards from initial concept and design through to completion.

ERA’s has security and certification across its extensive offering of smart security and traditional hardware.  Over 40 of ERA’s lock, hardware and letterboxes are accredited by Secured by Design’s Police Preferred Specification scheme.

TouchKey

The company’s smart door security solution, TouchKey, which combines the latest innovations in smart technology has recently achieved SBD’s Secure Connected Device accreditation, the recognisable accreditation which highlights Internet of Things (IoT) connected products that have achieved the relevant IoT standards and certifications, including third-party testing and independent certification.

The company says that TouchKey is the only system of its kind to combine five different entry methods into a single door handle. This includes fingerprint access, a smart home App, geolocation technology, voice-activated entry and manual key override.

Combining a smarter security door handle with an auto-firing multi-point lock and an anti-bump security cylinder, TouchKey delivers high standards of dynamic smart technology with mechanical hardware endurance.

Better decisions

Helen Downer, UK and Ireland president of ERA’s parent company, Tyman, says: “Our long-term relationship with Secured by Design forms part of our continuous commitment to supporting consumers in making better-informed choices when purchasing security solutions to help keep them safe in their homes.

“It also reflects our dedication to product innovation and third-party testing and certification, which is reflected through our continuously expanding portfolio of products that delivers ultimate levels of protection and peace of mind."

Secured by Design development officer, Hazel Goss, says: “It has been a great pleasure to work with ERA over the past 11 years and we are thrilled that the partnership has extended for another year.”
