Zap Apps

Business Pilot now, via Zapier, interfaces with thousands of popular Apps. The Installer speaks to MD Elton Boocock about this latest leap forward for productivity.

For many users of Business Pilot, a useful feature is the integration with FENSA. Via a piece of code called an API (Application Programming Interface), users of the software can register their installations with FENSA without leaving Business Pilot.

There are many benefits of this, including reduced errors and speed of use, according to Business Pilot’s MD Elton Boocock.

“We’ve spoken to users who tell us that registering installations with FENSA takes seconds,” he says. “On the other hand, we’ve heard stories of people setting aside weekends each month to register installations the regular way or even employing someone just to do that one task.

“We’ve also got APIs with other popular Apps, including Tommy Trinder, Windowlink and Xero – all of which help to improve the lives of installers.”

Zapier

Encouraged by the success of these individual APIs, Business Pilot recently released one of its biggest updates yet, which offers window companies more opportunities than ever before to improve efficiency, increase profitability, and create the best user journey possible for their customers.

Launched live online to audiences on Facebook and YouTube on 3 May 2024, Business Pilot unveiled its new Zapier integration, a development that will allow users to link the Business Pilot Software to virtually any other application.

From here, users can create automated tasks, and leverage the functionality of other applications from within Business Pilot.

7,000 Apps

“Zapier takes this idea to a whole new level, as this one update can link Business Pilot to more than 7,000 Apps,” Boocock says. “With this new integration with Zapier, we are taking these integrations beyond the boundaries of window and door systems and into the wider world, creating opportunities on an almost unimaginable scale.”

For example, with Zapier integration, a new customer contact added via Business Pilot can be added automatically to a Mailchimp distribution list, at the same as being added to a Google Sheet.

“When you have a ‘Trigger’ in one App, and an ‘Action’ in another App, this is known as a ‘Zap’,” he says. “And you can construct a world where operations are carried out automatically and more efficiently, saving you money in the process, all while improving the customer journey.”

Webinar launch

During the live webinar launch, Remi Gruszka from Smart Vision Systems explained the successes he’d had Beta testing the software. He says: “We have been using Zapier to integrate a lot of our tools and a lot of our internal systems. We can now take the central database that we’ve built within Business Pilot – all the contacts, the leads, the purchase orders – and push it into other systems, to create extra benefits.

“We can push those details into a custom reporting system and into a web platform that we have, which pushes updates through to customers. It basically creates a customer journey that we have always wanted to develop fully.

“It has also saved us a lot of time because we don’t have to double-input all that information, which also removes the opportunity for errors creeping into the system.”

On the telephone

Gruszka adds: “One Zap we really like is the phone integration. The second a new contact gets created in Business Pilot, it automatically pushes it into the Zapier phone system.

“We’ve had customers who have submitted an online form and followed it up with a phone call. We’ve picked up the phone and answered using their name. And it’s absolutely blown their minds that we know their name after just 30 seconds of them putting it into the website.”

New era

“It’s hard to predict how the Zapier integration will play out,” he says. “Ultimately, any actions that you carry out repeatedly can be automated with any App. Speed, accuracy and customer satisfaction will almost certainly be improved.”

Boocock says: “This is the start of a great journey and I’m looking forward to hearing from our customers to discover all the different ways the Zapier integration is being used.”
