Kubu, the smart-sensor technology for windows and doors, is not only enjoying huge consumer uptake - most homeowners have the 'smarts' to activate their systems all by themselves.

Now that is not the same as installing the systems themselves - Kubu is still inherently something facilitated by fabricators and installed as part of a new or retrofit project. But purchasers - at a rate of a whopping 98% - find the system so easy to use, they then take it on to full activation from there.

Simplicity leads to launch

The simplicity of the Kubu system and thus its uptake at consumer level, has inspired Avantis International (the owner & developer of the system) to invest in further enhancements and a product launch in the middle of 2021.

The company is setting the development pace of the smart-sensor market for windows and doors. Kubu already boasts high profile customers including Abacus, CWG Choices, Dekko, Emplas, GJB, Glazerite, Listers and new build specialists, Nationwide Windows, along with composite door specialist Hurst Doors.

£1 million investment

The move into the smart-sensor market has been one in which Avantis International has invested £1.0 million to date, harnessing international and wholly owned subsidiaries for the development of the software and firmware, with fully integrated manufacturing from a plant in South-East Asia.

Yet, Avantis International is not new into the sensor market, supplying over one million sensors per month to specialist consumer brands across Europe.
