Universal Expands Its Universe

It is an exciting time for Universal Composite Doors as it continues to experience rapid growth in a sector that’s booming and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

The company has invested in excess of £1.25 million in a move and fit out to a new 27,000sq.ft factory along with new plant and equipment. The new factory is situated next to the A1307 (formerly the A14) 15 miles north of Cambridge giving great links to the firm's delivery areas.

Any door open

The move to new premises during the summer was key to the company’s vision for 2022 to provide any style of door in any RAL sprayed colour supplied in 10 working days.

Universal uses components including either Liniar or Duraflex profile, Yale multi point locks and SFS adjustable hinges as standard. The investment provides the necessary infrastructure for scale.

“We’re probably the fastest growing privately owned composite door manufacturer servicing the trade and retail sector of our industry. This is an incredibly exciting time for the team at Universal as becoming the ‘go to’ manufacturer in this space promises great opportunities for all.”

– Neil Peck

Manging director, Universal Composite Doors

Reunited at Universal

Universal has also welcomed a new sales director to the team. Haydon Statham has worked with Peck for more than 15 years at a previous business within the door sector - and they’re very excited to be back working together.

Other appointments

There have been new appointments within the office team and these opportunities alongside an ongoing recruitment campaign for factory operatives and drivers are great news for job hunters in Cambridgeshire.
