The ‘triple glazing as standard’, Silka slim sash window range is now available for the UK market after completing a rigorous testing process to achieve U-values of 0.8 W/m²K.
The team behind Apeer doors has used its expertise and technical know-how to develop the aluminium glazing.
“We’re really excited to be bringing this to the market,” says Andy Jones, sales and marketing director for Silka in England and Wales. “The 66mm profile thickness and 44mm triple glazing at no additional cost makes this the most exciting system on the market.”
Thermafill
Jones adds: “It’s not just the profile and glazing combination that makes the windows so impressive, our ground-breaking thermal barrier, Thermafill is a new method of insulating the cavities inside profiles to prevent heat loss. The combination of Thermafill insulation and super low U-values make the Silka slim sash window one of the top systems available anywhere.”
Dummy sash
Silka is available in a dummy sash configuration, which is rare for aluminium systems. Jones says: “The square-edge detailing suits both contemporary and heritage properties, particularly for traditional bay windows with a dummy sash.”
Colour
The windows are available in dual colour options and in ‘Silktouch’ that offers a lightly textured, silky feel.
Lift and slide
Jones says: “We have also introduced a lift and slide door and will soon be bringing roof lights and a range of entrance and bi-fold doors to the market.”
