Robert Thiroff, MD of profine (UK), is the winner of the ‘Transformational Leader’ and has become the overall ‘Leader of the Year’ at the 2023 East Midlands Leadership Awards.

The highly prestigious awards were attended by 250 of Thiroff’s peers at a ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza, Nottingham towards the end of March.

The awards acknowledge Thiroff’s achievements in turning around a business acquired by the profine group in 2020 which had twice fallen into administration under two previous owners.

The window profile manufacturer has seen its fortunes successfully reversed. Thiroff and his team have taken it from making a loss to the secure and thriving position it enjoys today, increasing its profitability by 350%, winning back customers and safeguarding over 200 jobs.

Leadership skills

Thiroff’s strong leadership skills, genuine people focus and commitment to the wellbeing and professional development of those around him have all been central to this success. Combined, they have contributed to a dynamic company culture where there are high levels of employee engagement.

This Leader of the Year award is selected by the judges from the 11 separate category winners. The chosen recipient is an individual or organisation that embodies outstanding leadership and who is an exemplar for the East Midlands.
