Support Faster 2 FIT – Support Cancer Research UK

Two members of Made for Trade’s staff have committed to a gruelling FIT Show trek. The pair aim to cycle from the firm’s headquarters in Billingham (near Stockton) all the way to Birmingham, NEC – all in less than a day.

They have called their ride ‘Faster to FIT’ as they will have to go faster than they have ever done to get to the venue by 5:00pm on the Monday night before the event kicks off  the  next day. The FIT Show runs 23-25 May.

The duo are riding for Cancer Research UK. They will rely on your generous donations and sponsorship (details of how to contribute can be found below).

Making the podium

Made for Trade operations director Chris Wann and business development manager Leigh Greenwood will be setting off at dawn to tackle the 200-mile ordeal. The bikes the pair will ride are set to form an intrinsic part of the MFT display. If for any reason Wann and Greenwood don’t make their self-imposed target of 5:00pm, they will have until the doors close at the NEC on ‘set-up night’ as their colleagues will have created and erected a pride-of-place podium for their bikes to sit proudly alongside MFT and Cancer UK branding and messages of why exhibition goers should support the charity.

The podium will detail the full challenge backstory, along with current sponsors and a prominent QR code intended to encourage as many attendees as possible to scan and donate throughout the three days of the 2023 exhibition.

In excess of 6,000 attendees are predicted alongside 100+ exhibitors.

“The incredible work done by Cancer Research UK relies heavily on fundraising and donations,. When it comes to the fenestration world, there is no better place to highlight the industry’s community and generosity than at the FIT Show. Being able to take on this challenge allows us to raise vital funds in the fight against cancer.”

– Chris Wann

Operations director, Made for Trade

Keeping with FIT

The FIT Show is the huge exhibition dedicated to the window, door, hardware and flat glass industry. Since MFT’s first appearance at the 2016 event, the company has returned to each one to exhibit the award-winning products that have seen the firm grow into a major aluminium fabricator with its Korniche bi-folding door system and Korniche lantern roof becoming household names.
