From modern renovations, new builds and an array of commercial spaces, steel-look glazing is adding a healthy dose of character. It’s a trend we’ve seen grow steadily over the last few years, so we knew it would be a huge opportunity for our customers if we were able to help them deliver on it themselves – that’s why we introduced the aïr 900 heritage bi-fold door.
Keeping customers ahead
We initially launched our aïr 900 bi-fold door in contemporary styling which was, at the time of launch, one of the slimmest bi-fold doors on the market – which is still the case today with a super-slim 107mm sightline. It was launched in response to continued homeowner demand for natural light and a seamless connection to outdoor spaces.
The positive reaction we had from customers for its slim sightlines and fantastic thermal performance meant this quickly became one of the most popular products in our portfolio. From then, we started to think about how we could utilise the system to deliver more choice for customers. We could see there was a demand from consumers and that’s when we decided to introduce a steel-look heritage option.
Bridging the gap between exceptional technical performance and on-trend aesthetics, we utilised our decades of manufacturing experience to create a product that not only delivered on specification and performance but that was at its core, a dedicated steel-look heritage door.
Designed and manufactured from the ground up, the aïr 900 bi-fold heritage option channels the industrial art deco trend, thanks to its specifically designed steel-look profiles and astragal bars. The new heritage styling options have not only given our customers the ability to offer modern and traditional design options to homeowners, it also allows them to supply the high-quality products they need to remain ahead of the competition in today’s market.
Meeting demand, delivering edge
The reaction we’ve had from customers has demonstrated just how in demand heritage and steel-look industrial glazing solutions are in the market currently. We knew that it was a popular product from the discussions we were having with customers at Empower 24 – our annual trade customer conference. Orders and requests have gone from strength to strength since then. It really has become a stand-out product. Having the contemporary styling option also available means our customers can offer homeowners a cutting-edge door, no matter their preferred design preference.
Heritage and industrial art deco architecture is timeless, and a trend that homeowners never seem to fall out of love with, so we made sure that our customers have the products to continually meet demand for style, as well as security and thermal efficiency.
