Wayne Heath, sales director AluK

We Buy Any Car’s Wayne Heath is the new sales director for AluK trade and residential; CWS has a new commercial estimator; and Ben Wallace has become the GGF ‘s head of membership & customer relations.

Heath has a track record with the likes of Everest and Anglian and spent three years with We Buy Any Car. He has been employed to drive customer service. He will therefore be bringing broad knowledge of the changing retail landscape to AluK and helping customers understand how they can best respond to that through new sales and differentiation strategies and digital offerings.

Cost of living crisis

Heath says: “We all know the cost-of-living crisis is already starting to have an impact on the economy, so my focus will be on making sure AluK responds quickly and intelligently to any tightening in the window and door market and that we stand side by side with our customers giving them all the support they need.”

Central Window Systems - commercial estimator set to streamline business growth

Aluminium has historically been a difficult supply chain to manage, which is why full solution fabricator Central Window Systems has appointed a commercial estimator to help streamline processes. Chris Lock joins the company having previously worked at Hydro Aluminium UK.

His appointment comes as Central works to expand its aluminium division - growing both its product portfolio and customer base.

“My previous experience has prepared me well for my role at Central, where I’m responsible for researching the cost of materials, establishing relationships with contractors, securing quotes from suppliers and assessing the risk levels associated with projects.”

– Chris Lock

Commercial estimator, Central Window Systems

Staying in control

“Central is a single source supplier of PVC-U and aluminium solutions. As part of our growth strategy, we’ve spent the last few months expanding both our aluminium range and our range of high-end products,” continues Lock. “During this period of growth, it’s vital that we have a constant eye on the changing prices of materials, and that we’re maintaining strong relationships with our suppliers.”

Membership & customer relations

The Glass & Glazing Federation has promoted Ben Wallace to his new role as head of membership & customer relations having been with the GGF for 10 year. He says: “I have been present at GGF meetings since 2012 listening to what is important to our members. There is a lot of room for development and we can bring the GGF even closer to members to help them to succeed in the industry.”

In 2015, Wallace took over the GGF’s consultancy department and turned it into an asset for the federation before being promoted in 2020 to senior technical officer, heading up the Glazing Executive side of the organisation.
