With AI being heavily discussed at FIT Show 2025, the company thinks we should to turn chat into action by embracing and adopting the smart systems and intelligent processes available.
While much of the industry buzz focused on the potential of AI to streamline operations and reduce inefficiencies, Glideline’s MD David Pickering says his business has long been leveraging intelligent systems to improve how it communicates, delivers and supports its network of UK trade partners. He says: “For us, smart systems and responsive data handling aren’t just concepts, they’re embedded in how we run our business. It’s great to see the industry getting excited about AI, yet we’ve been quietly integrating intelligent tools behind the scenes to support both our internal team and trade customers for years.”
GlidelineGO
One of the standout examples is GlidelineGO, the company’s custom-built CRM and order management tool. Designed to remove friction from the ordering process, it enables trade partners to track quotes, approve drawings, manage deliveries and handle payments all in one place.
Pickering says: “I set up Glideline after an early career working as an installer, so I know exactly where the pinch points are. With GlidelineGO, we’ve taken the stress out of the process. It’s not AI in the futuristic sense but it’s smart, intuitive tech designed around real user needs – and that’s what matters most.”
The firm also uses intelligent tracking software to oversee production through its recently expanded 30,000sq.ft. factory in Great Yarmouth. This investment in operational efficiency has helped Glideline scale at speed, while staying responsive to surging demand for slimline aluminium systems.
“A lot of companies are chasing the buzz around AI right now,” concludes Pickering. “But what really counts is how technology helps you be more reliable, more responsive and more valuable to the people you serve. It is really important to me that Glideline does not just talk innovation – we deliver it.”
