Peak, Paddle, Pedal Traverses To 2022

GM Fundraising's Peak, Paddle, Pedal charity event to raise money for Hope House Children’s Hospices has been postponed until 2022.

It was originally planned for 2020 and had been moved to 2021 but Covid has scuppered those plans.

“With pandemic restrictions still in place, this has prohibited the ability to undertake the team’s extensive one on one training programme that is needed for such an event.  In light of this situation and the short timeframe to raise funds, we feel moving dates again is the responsible thing to do.”

30 July, 2022

The 12 members of the Peak, Paddle, Pedal team will now climb Snowdon, canoe 150 miles down the length of the River Severn and cycle 150 miles back to Hope House in Oswestry from 30 July, 2022.

Support vital

With several large-scale fundraising events being postponed or cancelled over the last twelve months, support for Hope House has never been so vital. Morton says: “Like a lot of charities, the pandemic has hit Hope House Children’s Hospices hard. This was exacerbated with the rise in PPE costs needed for face-to-face nursing.  We are more determined than ever to help support the Hospices and are still looking forward to the various planned events we still have this year.”

European golf

One planned event is the ever-popular GM Fundraising Cup which is scheduled for 16 September 2021 at Quinta Do Lago in Portugal. Morton says: “Looking at the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, we are as confident as we can be of this going ahead.  The three-day golf event is hugely popular and more importantly raises some much-needed funds.”

Hope House Children’s Hospices provides palliative care for children with terminal conditions and support for their families, both on site and in their homes. Over 95% of Hope House’s £5 million annual operating costs are met through charitable donations.”
