Donate Generously To We Mind And Kelly Matters Challenge

Sarah Ball, of sector specialist marketing firm Balls2Marketing (founded with husband Andy Ball), is taking on a 10-day cycling challenge to raise funds for the charity We Mind and Kelly Matters.

The industry charity was founded in memory of Kelly Hewitt who took her own life in 2019 when suffering from depression. The charity raises awareness of mental health issues and provides resources for use by anybody concerned about a friend or relative.

“Of course, with charity events, there’s the question of sponsorship. We need to raise money for the charity and donations can be made through the Just Giving Page.”

Cyclist fundraiser, We Mind and Kelly Matters

The We Mind and Kelly Matters cycling teams (also known as Kelly’s Heroes) are taking on two extremely difficult challenges in Europe and the US. Initially, they will start on 10 September (World Suicide Prevention Day) in northern Spain and cycling through France and Germany for 10 days. The team (supplemented my new members replacing some only on the European leg) then move on to Newark in the US starting on 24 September and finishing on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco on 10 October (World Mental Health Day).

Sarah, who will be joined by daughter Stephanie Ward, will ride the European leg. Both have been in severe training. To track her progress, Sarah will be posting regular updates on her personal socials, as well as on the Balls2 Marketing and PiGs networking group pages. She says: “When I am finishing mile 42 of a training ride, it’s easy to question why I said yes to the latest cycling challenge, yet it doesn’t take long to remember that it’s important to raise both awareness and money for this incredible charity.

“Never before has there been so much pressure on mental health services. No family is unaffected. The past two years of the pandemic have shown that we are all in need of help and support at some time during our lives. The reason we wanted to be part of the team is that We Mind and Kelly Matters has a hands on approach to supporting people when they need it.”
