Modern Trad
How do you create a heritage window that fulfils all the demands of modern life and then some, while also incorporating more authentic traditional design...
Read Full ArticleQuickslide’s new Legacy VS features an ultra-slim midrail, run-through sash horns and comes with the option of timber-looking joints. It also hits a 1.2W/m²K U-value. MD Ben Weber reveals how this has come to fruition.
He says: “We’re genuinely proud of how quickly our new Legacy VS production has been brought up to full capacity and really pleased about the overall demand there has been for it.
“Despite the initial capacity cap during the first two weeks of producing our new slim midrail design, our expert fabricators are already up to full speed and producing hundreds of frames a week. Everybody has worked so hard.”
Legacy
The enhanced Legacy VS now features a new midrail which, at just 37mm wide, is Legacy’s slimmest yet – and over a centimetre narrower than its standard counterpart.
“The slim midrail is what you’ll spot first – or not, as it makes Legacy even harder to distinguish from an original timber sash window,” says Weber.
“We’ve also introduced a new run-through sash horn design. Sash horns integrate seamlessly with the top sash without that telltale joint on close inspection. The refined horn features an endcap that aligns with the horn’s shape, completely removing the lip associated with PVC-U. There’s also the option to have 90-degree timber-look joints, rather than the standard 45-degree PVC-U weld. All of which makes Legacy an authentically styled sash window.”
U-Values
Weber continues: “We’re pleased to announce we also now offer an improved U-value of 1.2W/m²K for VS. We wanted to make sure Legacy’s superior performance keeps up with its striking looks. With this iteration we're offering our most thermally efficient sash window yet.”
Added Support
Behind the scenes, Quickslide has also been making changes to ensure the arrival and launch of the new enhanced Legacy VS is fully supported for maximum impact.
“We continue to develop our marketing support. ‘Legacy On-Screen’ is now fully up and running and quite a few of our installers have taken on the tool already. It’s a custom-built web tool that automatically uploads the latest product information and images from Quickslide, which our partners can host on their website for their customers to access, leaving us to do the rest,” says Weber.

Marketing
Weber adds: “Our sales and marketing team has undergone a transformation, which will be seen outwardly in what we are doing with our marketing, online presence and social media channels going forward. But our trade partners will also see this difference in the marketing support we can offer them.
“As we’re continually developing our marketing support, we’ve also got a dedicated new business development team, which will help us identify areas where we are not well represented yet and where we can invite potential trade partners to work with us.”
