More than 75% of attendees at last year’s Glazing Summit think that smart doors and windows will be the next big thing.

A poll conducted at this the one-day conference at Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre in late 2019 posed the question ‘Are smart windows and doors all hype? Or is it the next big thing?’ and only 24% thought it was all hype.

Effect on the industry

Event organisers Purplex Marketing and Insight Data used Slido, the online Q&A and polling app, to conduct several polls throughout the day which attendees were able to take through a smartphone App.

This event saw an interesting discussion on the impact smart technology is likely to have on the industry.

Andrew Scott continues: “Our panel of experts provided a really good discussion on smart tech – how it will evolve to become much more than just a gadget and how it will ultimately be driven by what the consumer demands. There are interesting times ahead.”

Next Summit

The Glazing Summit saw almost 350 industry leaders come together to discuss the challenges the industry faces, with a total of 25 expert and keynote speakers taking to the stage during the day and 23 big name sponsors backing the event.

Glazing Summit 2020 will take place at the same venue on October 8.
