Family Man Found Dead At Housing Development

Scott Grimes and his family

A young family man was found dead on Monday 15 February at a small to medium sized new housing project in development in Basingstoke.

The houses were being built for Clarion Housing Group by Brymor Construction. Scott Grimes has been named as the dead man - aged just 30. He leaves a wife and young son.

The police were the first responders - they were called just after 9:45. Scott was taken by ambulance - but sadly was pronounced dead at hospital. Police officers secured the scene and the health & safety executive called in. The circumstances of the death are still to be confirmed but are presumed to have been as a result of a workplace accident.

A spokesperson for Brymor Construction said: "Regrettably an incident occurred yesterday at one of our sites where an operative was found unresponsive. Despite first aid being administered by our team and the emergency health professionals, they were unable to resuscitate him."

Grimesy

Scott was know by friends as Grimesy. They have set up a GoFundMe page and at time of writing (midday 17 Feb) had raised nearly £30,000 for Scott's family and funeral expenses.
