A homeowner in Omagh, Northern Ireland has transformed the comfort, energy efficiency and appearance of his home by replacing an ageing Velux roof window with a new Keylite roof window.
Located in the County Tyrone countryside, the property now benefits from improved thermal performance, reduced draughts and clear views thanks to the installation, completed by a Keylite verified installer.
Homeowner Cathal McAteer had experienced several issues with the existing roof window, including condensation, mould growth and noticeable draughts caused by air gaps around the frame. The timber frame had also become heavily weathered over the years and had even been painted black internally in an attempt to improve its appearance.
McAteer entered Keylite’s competition to win a free roof window replacement, including installation by one of Keylite’s verified installers.
The installation was carried out through Keylite’s verified installer scheme, which provides professional installers with specialist product and installation training from Keylite’s technical team. This ensures roof windows are fitted in line with best practice, giving homeowners the confidence that their installation will be completed to the highest standard.
During the project, the installer used Keylite’s renovation flashing kit, specifically designed to simplify the replacement of other roof window brands. The deeper flashing accommodates Keylite products, which traditionally sit lower in the roof, helping to achieve a neat finish while improving weatherproofing.
Homeowner Cathal McAteer says: “We immediately noticed a significant difference in heat retention and overall comfort throughout our home after the installation was complete. The new roof window has made an immediate impact, and we are absolutely delighted with the results.
“Keylite provided excellent customer service, skilled fitters, a clean and tidy installation and a quality product that delivers exactly what it promises.”
Liam Ball, verified installer project manager, says “We’re delighted that our competition winner was able to enjoy a straightforward retrofit installation. The scheme is designed to remove the hassle from roof window replacement projects, giving homeowners confidence that their new roof window will be installed correctly first time by a trained professional.”
Keylite’s verified installer scheme offers professional installers the opportunity to receive in-depth training on the installation of Keylite products, gain accreditation and benefit from exclusive lead generation and marketing support to help grow their business.
To further support the trade, verified installers are promoted through the Keylite website, making it easier for homeowners to find accredited local installers. In addition, all product purchases continue to be back-sold through established merchant stockists, strengthening relationships between manufacturers, installers and merchant partners.
