Editor Brian Shillibeer joins in with Sam Davies in lamenting the level of fly tipping we are seeing in the UK. Davies reminds members in this month’s FENSA Column that the organisation has an entirely free collection and recycling service as he says some installers accidentally hand their frames to rogue waste disposal companies. Shillibeer takes issue with this, stating that nobody who is serious about doing things properly should ever find their waste frames and glass dumped in school playgrounds.
Fight The Fly-Tipper – Free Waste Collection

Fate Sealed As Soon As Sealant Wrongly Applied
Don Waterworth, The Installer’s Technical Expert, again takes issue with installer standards. In this example, they fall way, way below the standards that should be expected and involve trying to ‘hide’ a gap between frame and wall. The installer’s fate was sealed on application – the silicone was always going to shrink to reveal the ‘con’.
The Residence Collection has officially launched its PVC timber alternative open-in entrance door, expanding its already large window and door offering with a product designed for homeowners, installers and fabricators alike.
