Top Guns To Go Maverick At Summit

Delegates can expect some blunt and maverick views at the Glazing Summit as Barclays’ UK chief investment officer is the keynote speaker and Peter Cross, an expert on consumer behaviour, will also fly in to discuss the economic skyline.

Cross is the former John Lewis & Waitrose customer experience director. William Hobbs is the Barclays’ man who leads a team focused on investment strategy. He has previous experience in the global consumer sector. He will share his views on the outlook for the UK economy.

“As a frequent contributor of economic insight to Bloomberg, CNBC and many other media outlets, Barclays’ Will Hobbs brings his deep insights to the Glazing Summit and will share his views on the economic outlook and what the road ahead may look like for UK business.”

One-day not to be missed

“To have the top man at Barclays Investments on stage this year is fantastic. It will be a hugely interesting keynote and one that is not to be missed,” continues Scott.

The annual one-day conference returns to Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham on Tuesday, 18 October with 20 expert speakers discussing the significant issues facing the industry and the UK economy in front of 400 industry leaders and business owners from across the glass and glazing sector. Worth the Waitrose

With eight years as at John Lewis and Waitrose and 10 years as the business partner of TV celebrity Mary Portas, dubbed the ‘queen of retail’, Peter Cross is billed as ‘a world-renowned expert on consumer behaviour, retail and customer experience’. It will be worth the wait to see him speak live.

Cross will share insights on the future of shopping, and how the home improvement industry can become irresistible to its target customers.

Andrew Scott says: “Peter is known for his charismatic, inspiring and straight-talking style. Having worked with some of the world’s most iconic brands, he will be sharing his trusted techniques with the glazing industry.

“With economic uncertainties, and consumer confidence at an all-time low, I’m sure he will leave summit delegates with a clear sense of what the future of retail might have in store, some of his golden rules for customer service and actionable insights to help companies stand out and succeed at a higher level.”
