The Evolution Of The ORiGINAL Door

ORiGINAL Brought to you by DoorCo

ORiGINAL is an 'evolved' foam-filled composite door range just launched by DoorCo. It follows the company's GRiPCORE door and FLiP glazing cassette launches early this year.

Despite the pandemic, DoorCo has been very busy delivering its latest innovations with strong new identities. In fact the the composite door manufacturer has followed a similar path with each introduction - investing in a comprehensive suite of marketing collateral to aid and support customers’ own marketing.

“ORiGINAL could be seen as an entry level solution, yet the reality is it is highly engineered and has been developed specifically for the UK market. It has passed the rigours of PAS 24 in line with Approved Document Q, every door is Q-Mark stamped giving UK customers peace of mind on manufacturing process and quality.”

– Dan Sullivan

MD, DoorCo

Sullivan adds: "The structure consists of a PU foam core, encompassed by an LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) subframe to provide strength and rigidity and finished with DoorCo’s 44mm GRP outer skins to protect the home from the elements and offer minimal thermal expansion and contraction rates under extreme temperature variations.

“The foundation of the ORiGINAL range is still DoorCo’s 9 slab options with the same wide range of door designs, appealing to both the commercial and retail sectors. We have however made a few advancements to reflect the evolution of DoorCo and the market."

Categorisation

Sullivan explains: “Firstly, we have categorised our door styles into 3 collections to support the changing trends in architectural design: Traditional, Contemporary, and Designer. Within the collections there have been some design enhancements as we switch over to our new glazing cassette system, FLiP.

“The FLiP Standard cassette has a redesigned bevelled finish that has refreshed our traditional doors and has opened up opportunities for new options on favourites. FLiP’s two squared-off contemporary designs are partnered with our Monza II and Links doors to create the new Designer collection. FLiP Flat Grained has also been used alongside Inox in the Contemporary collection to enhance designs on the Flush slab."

More on the card

Concluding, Sullivan says: “There’s still more to come from DoorCo over the coming months with PAiNT, GLAZiNG, and a whole new refresh of the DoorCo brand, a lot of which can be previewed in new ORiGINAL brochure."
