The Devil Is In The Detail For Aluminium Entrance Doors

Carl F Groupco, the door and window hardware distributor, has reported an increase in demand across its ranges suitable for use on aluminium entrance doors but claims the devil is in the detail when it comes to high-end products.

“It’s why we’re increasingly finding that aluminium fabricators and system houses are seeking next-level hardware as part of high specification installations,” says the company’s MD, John Crittenden.

“For such projects, FUHR multipoint locking systems have become a popular choice,” adds Crittenden. The FUHR autosafe 833 slam shut door lock is a reliable multipoint locking device that has automatic locking functionality. It’s opened with a key on the outside and a handle on the inside. It protects a property from unauthorised access from the moment the door is closed as the latches turn into solid latch deadbolts upon closure.”

Smart

The next two popular door hardware solutions available from Carl F Groupco are part of the SmartSecure range, which offers electronic multipoint door locking systems and smart access control technology. Crittenden says: The SmartSecure FUHR autotronic 834 automatic door lock is a practical hybrid solution that combines the convenience of an automatic lock and the advanced functionality of an electro-mechanical lock. The door locks automatically as it’s closed. It can be opened manually with a key or with any of FUHR’s access control systems such as the SmartTouch comfort, which uses an active transponder and keyless unlocking and a sensor on the door or pull handle. There is also a radio fingerprint scanner, a radio keypad and a radio transponder.”

The devil and the detail

Crittenden adds: ”Aluminium has moved from being the choice for garden doors to being desired as residential entrance doors. But they need quality hardware to complete the picture. The hardware is the function that homeowners will engage with daily, so quality and user experience are essential and that is why where the devil is in the detail.”
