Passive House In Colour With Kömmerling

Kömmerling’s System 88 tilt and turn platform with ProStratoTec technology.

ProStratoTec is a new technology from Kömmerling. Incorporated into the company’s System 88 tilt and turn platform, it can now achieve the Dr. Feist Passive House Standard– and do it in a full colour range.

A high-tech material, Ultradur from BASF, is firmly integrated into the Kömmerling profile structure using a tri-extrusion process, making it possible to completely do without steel even with coloured and foiled profiles. Historically System 88 has only been able to achieve the Dr. Feist standard in white.

Dimensional stability

PVC-U window profiles with the fibreglass-reinforced ProStratoTec material are characterised by a particularly high degree of dimensional stability and rigidity. ProStratoTec is extruded, similarly to PVC and if required, also simultaneously with PVC.

Heat transfer

There are a number of advantages of ProStratoTec, as it helps insulate much more effectively than steel and drastically improves a window's heat transfer coefficient. In addition, there is an enormous weight saving which pays off in production, transport and installation, especially with ever larger window elements. There are also no other restrictions or changes in manufacturing and installation processes and ProStratoTec products can be processed on any production line without any special conversion.

“Our System 88 platform is a flagship product from a technical perspective and this latest development of ProStratoTec opens up considerable opportunities in colour whilst meeting the important Dr. Feist standard.”
