New roofline EPDS

Roofline EPDS

Freefoam Building Products has announced the release of three environmental product declaration’s. Summary documents of the full EPD’s are now available covering PVC downpipes, PVC gutter and PVC fascia, soffit and window trim ranges, giving the trade clear, concise access to verified environmental performance information for key roofline and rainwater products.

Aidan Harte says “We are delighted to announce the availability of these three EPD’s. Our teams have worked hard over the last 12 months alongside external assessors to measure, calculate and produce this information. It’s been a long process but vital as our industry works towards the transition towards a net-zero future.”

Three new summary documents are now available online. Each document presents key assessment results for 1kg of product. These summarise product cradle-to-gate carbon footprint data, along with embodied carbon footprint data for the entire lifecycle of the product. Additional information on programme operator details, standards followed and the manufacturing scope are covered in each of the summary documents

The products are manufactured in the United Kingdom and assessed using 2024 production data, with the declarations following ISO 14025:2006 and EN 15804:2012+A2:2019/AC:2021.

The documents summarise Global Warming Potential and embodied carbon values for declared units of 1kg, helping the trade compare product categories using consistent assessment boundaries.

The summaries also set out the lifecycle modules covered, including raw materials, raw material transport to factory, manufacture, transport to site, construction, building use and maintenance, and end-of-life stages such as demolition, waste transport, recycling and disposal.

Kevin Cronin, Chief Operating Office says: “The publication of these EPD summary documents is an important step in giving our customers practical, transparent information about the environmental performance of our products. Stockists, installers, housebuilders and specifiers are increasingly being asked for clear product data, and these summaries make that information easy to access.”
