When Benedicte Waaler wanted to create more space in the family home, she contacted Simply Loft and got a new master bedroom and en-suite in her mid-terraced house in Penge, south-east London.

Bathroom

The converted loft space, which was originally used as storage became the master bedroom, with an en-suite. The old master bedroom is now a guest bedroom, with the old guest room becoming a playroom for Waaler's children. The addition of the en-suite has also meant family and friends now have a bathroom of their own when they come to stay.

Waaler adds: “The one time we did encounter an unavoidable issue, was when the structural designs were completed and revealed the need for a cranked steel beam. The team at Simply Loft were a delight to deal with on this issue and promptly resolved it for us. The work was completely seamless, and I couldn’t have asked for a better company to complete our renovation.”

Adding value

The main part of the build project took only eight weeks to complete, but with added style choices, including fitted wardrobes, the whole conversion was completed within three months.

Recently, Waaler had the property valued and discovered that the property price has increased by £100,000 since the family  bought the house four years previously. A new garden office was added in 2018 but Waaler believes that the loft conversion has undoubtedly increased the homes function, desirability, and value.
